This is one of the many giant red sand dunes of the Namib desert found in the Sossus Vlei region. It is called "dune 145". Different than many other sand dunes,
these are stationary and do not shift overtime by the force of the wind. They are the tallest dunes in the world and their beautiful red color is due to their high iron content and other minerals.
The sensual and elegants lines in the crest of the dune are created by the effect of the wind which I wanted to emphasize in this picture by excluding other elements like the ski.
The trees at the base of the dune provide a reference element on the size of the dune.
